Romanian Surveyors Union (RSU), together with the Faculty of Civil Engineering from Politehnica University of Timișoara (FCEUPT) and the Faculty of Agriculture from University of Life Science ”King Mihai I” from Timișoara (ULST) are inviting you to participate at the 6th edition of Romanian Surveying Week (RSW), between 21st and 25th of October 2025. The event will be hosted in the campuses of the both Universities.

International Conference with the theme ”Geospatial technologies for sustainable development of agriculture and built environment”, will bring together specialists from geodesy, surveying, cadastre, professional education, special planning and administration, agriculture, GIS and other related fields, being the central part of the event.

PARTICIPANTS AND FOCUS

The international event is organized by the Romanian Surveyors Union (RSU) in partnership with the Faculty of Civil Engineering from Politehnica University Timișoara (FCEPUT) and the Faculty of Agriculture from University of Life Science ”King Mihai I” from Timișoara (ULST) and in collaboration with International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Commissions 2 and 8, the National Agency for Cadastre and Land registration (ANCPI).

Romanian Surveying Week offers participants the opportunity to present papers, debate and communicate in a professional and scientific manner, highlighting their own contribution to finding technical solutions and new research to identify social, technical and environmental benefits.

Conference technical papers and presentations main topics are:
  • ⇒ 1. The Profession – training, responsibility, evolution
  • ⇒ 2. Engineering Surveying for the built environment (Applied Surveying for Civil engineering structures)
  • ⇒ 3. The Role of Geospatial Analytics in Advancing Sustainable, Healthy and Resilient Cities
  • ⇒ 4. The Integrated Digital Built Environment
  • ⇒ 5. Remote Sensing and Geospatial Technologies for Sustainable Development
  • ⇒ 6. Remote Sensing, GIS, and AI in Agriculture
  • ⇒ 7. Ideas Hub – Student presentations

The ”The Profession – training, responsibility, evolution” session will provide a forum to present, enhance and discuss topics related to the profession, such as specific responsibilities of the geodesist in the digital era, legislation regarding the Geodetic Engineer profession, professional development opportunities and other important aspects regarding the future evolution of the profession.

The ”Engineering Surveying for the built environment (Applied Surveying for Civil engineering structures)” session aims to present and discuss aspects regarding the applied surveying for civil engineering and deformation monitoring and analysis.

The ”Role of Geospatial Analytics in Advancing Sustainable, Healthy and Resilient Cities” aims to bring together cutting-edge research that utilizes geospatial analytics to address the diverse challenges faced by cities worldwide.

The ”Integrated Digital Built Environment” session aims to present geospatial technologies as a support for development In this regard, participants are encouraged to present and discuss standards and quality assurance in geospatial technologies, use cases of GNSS technologies, Laser Scanning and Remote Sensing, geospatial data processing techniques, as well as BIM (Building Information Modelling) applications.

The ”Remote Sensing and Geospatial Technologies for Sustainable Development” session will accommodate a wide range of presentations covering the use of Remote sensing and GIS as a geospatial data environment in applications such as Smart Cities, urban planning or sustainable development.

The ”Remote Sensing, GIS, and AI in Agriculture” session aims to present the development of new methods that can enhance productivity and decrease the environmental impact is of great interest all around the globe. In this regard, participants are encouraged to present and discuss the advent of emerging technologies, integrating high-resolution remote sensing images (spatial, spectral, and temporal), geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), artificial intelligence (AI), and Big Data analysis in cloud computing systems.

Lastly but not least, the ”Ideas Hub – Student presentations” section will give students the opportunity to present, enhance and discuss their research, work and ideas on all topics of the event, with professionals in the field. We invite you to submit your abstract by 16th of June, 2025. It is important that all submitted abstracts focus on the symposium topics. Other related topics can be proposed, but it is suggested to contact the scientific committee beforehand. All the papers should be submitted through the conference website and sent to the following e-mail addresses: geodezie.upt@gmail.com ; george.popescu@usvt.ro

⇒ Submitting the abstract14th of July, 2025
⇒ Notification of acceptance for presentation28th of July, 2025
⇒ Submission of the full paper11th of August, 2025

The abstract should be 300 to 500 words in length describing the objectives, results, conclusions and significance of your work. The abstract shall include the names and affiliations of all authors.

You can submit your abstract for “regular” or “short” oral presentation. A regular presentation is a 10-15 minutes, whereas a short means a 5 minute poster presentation of your topic.

A display wall will be organized within the exhibition area, where those authors that are not included in the technical sessions program could present posters related to the papers submitted and accepted by the scientific committee. The authors will present and offer details on the posters according to a detailed program during expo hours.

The participants at the Conference may publish as full paper their presentations in Research Journal of Agricultural Science, ISSN 2668-926X.

The Journal is indexed, abstracted, or full text reproduced in the following databases and libraries: CABI, ULRICH'S PERIODICALS DIRECTORY, Index Copernicus International I.C. Journals Master List, CNCSIS Romania quoted B+ (valid journals are A, B+ and B).
