It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 6th edition of Romanian Surveying Week (RSW), organized by the Romanian Surveyors Union (RSU) in partnership with the Faculty of Civil Engineering from Politehnica University Timișoara (FCEPUT) and the Faculty of Agriculture from University of LifeScience ”King Mihai I” from Timișoara (ULST), and in collaboration with International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Commissions 2 and 8, the National Agency for Cadastre and Land registration (ANCPI). The event will take place in the both university’s campuses, between 21st and 25th of October 2025.
The main manifestation during the 6th edition of SGR is the International Conference with the theme ”Geospatial technologies for sustainable development of agriculture and built environment”. FIG Commission 8 Annual Meeting ”Responsible Knowledge Transfer and Innovation in Land and Spatial Governance” and FIG Commission 2 Roundtable on education topic, have dedicated space within the International Conference.
The generous theme of the International Conference will bring together specialists from geodesy, surveying, cadastre, professional education, spatial planning and development, local administration, agriculture, GIS and other related fields.
The 6th edition of RSW from Timișoara, will be preceded by the Romanian Young Surveyors Conference onthe topic ”From Learning to Leading: Young Surveyors in geospatial solutions for a sustainable world", where are expected more than 100 students, among them 50 will benefit from grants offered by the organizers and sponsors. The event will take place at the ULST campus.
The Official opening of the Romanian Surveying Week will take place in the Auditorium Hall from Politehnica University Timișoara, on 22nd of October 2025.
For two consecutive days the FCEPUT will host the activities within RSW. The last day of the event and official closing will take place at the ULST campus.
The international conference along with roundtables and forums, annual meetings and social activities organized within the Romanian Surveying Week in Timișoara, will offer the professional frame and environment for discussions, exchanging knowledge and experience among surveyors participating in the international event.
The event sponsors will present the latest technologies, solutions and projects within the technology expo, which will be organized at the both University’s campuses.

The most important event for the Romanian surveying professional community reached already its 6th edition! Romanian Surveying Week (RSW), organized by the Romanian Surveyors Union will be hosted by Timisoara, between 21 and 25 of October. We are enthusiastic with organizing this event in partnership with the Faculty of Civil Engineering from Politehnica University Timisoara and the Faculty of Agriculture from University of Life Science ”King Mihai I” from Timisoara. This year we are happy to welcome the representative of FIG Commission 2 and FIG Commission 8, having their own events within RSW. Topics as geodesy, surveying, cadastre, professional education, spatial planning and development, local administration, GIS and other related areas, will be of interest for Romanian and foreign professionals from both private and academic sectors.

It is a great honor to welcome you to the Romanian Surveying Week, event which will be held in Timisoara at the two universities, namely: Politehnica University Timisoara and University of Life Science ”King Mihai I” Timisoara. This week brings close-up the surveying area and the way in which knowledges, technology and innovations in this field are transforming key sectors such as construction, architecture, agriculture and sustainable development in Timisoara. In this context, I emphasize the essential role that surveying plays in infrastructure development and smart resource management.
The aim of the programmed activities is to encourage relevant debates and facilitate collaboration between students, professors and practitioners, academia, business and public administration thus contributing to the improvement of professional training and research in the field.
